Project Description
Growing up searching for his own voice, Manilow Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Omar Kholeif talks about how his personal experience, traveling and living in different geographies drives his passion and curatorial practice.
Sidekick Director, Ben Derico, partnered with Director and Documentary Filmmaker Jeremy Stuart to create this piece for Brownbook.tv, the online home of Brownbook magazine, an urban guide to the Middle East and North Africa.
The piece was featured as part of a larger series on Artists.
The mini-doc centers on Dr. Kholeif's move from Egypt to Scotland as a young child and how always feeling like an outsider has helped him create exhibitions who may be outsiders themselves.
